Our Holistic rehabilitation includes music therapy, hearing and speech therapy and individualised communication training. Children playfully discover sounds and language in music therapy - a valuable contribution to hearing and language development. Adults build on their musical interests or rediscover them. Individualised hearing training or telephone training sessions help to actively integrate the new hearing into everyday life. The Customisation of the speech processors takes place gradually, accompanied by regular checks. We also advise on the optimal use of technical accessories such as FM systems or smartphone connections - for the most self-determined and active hearing possible.

Our therapy services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors at the CI Centre Berlin Brandenburg

For both children and adults, the first speech processor fitting is carried out around four weeks after the operation and the journey of new hearing begins. Over the next few weeks, we expand the hearing programmes with subsequent fittings so that you can gently get used to the new hearing impressions. We will then carry out further subjective and objective electrophysiological checks of the CI system and further optimisation of the speech processor settings at gradually increasing intervals. You will also have the opportunity to take advantage of individualised therapeutic support.

For children with CIs, we offer regular appointments to promote hearing and speech development. If required, we can arrange weekly or fortnightly appointments with you for individual therapeutic support for your child. We are guided by
We focus on the natural language development of hearing children and always keep an eye on your child's overall development. As parents, you are the experts for your child. We take this requirement very seriously. On this basis, we work with you to support your child's development.

Children, adolescents and adults can take part in music therapy as part of CI rehabilitation.

Children
Children love playgrounds! With us, your child will find a „musical playground“ that they can discover and explore with all their senses and according to their individual needs and ideas. Free and structured play is one of the most popular forms of play.
Experimenting and creating with the voice and with a wide range of musical instruments. The experience of music is enriched by movement games, dance and theatre and linked to your child's world.

In this way, music therapy strengthens your child's interaction and communication skills and enables extensive and differentiated auditory and perceptual experiences. In the overall context of CI rehabilitation, we use music therapy as a holistic and integrated support for your child's hearing and speech development. In addition, our music therapy programme gives your child the opportunity to develop a natural, unbiased approach to music and to develop it as a life companion.

Teenagers and adults
A CI implantation can be an impulse for rediscovering or rediscovering music-related interests. In music therapy, we would like to encourage you to do so! Against the background of your biography, we will explore your current interests and concerns in a personal consultation.
and develop a personalised therapy profile together. Listening to music is often the main focus for most CI users. This is why teaching knowledge and strategies for perceiving, analysing and understanding music is the main focus of music therapy support. This is supplemented by music practice with voice and musical instruments or relaxation techniques with music. In music therapy, you will experience music up close and expand the range of your listening experiences and skills as well as your general interaction and communication strategies with the CI. We would be delighted if you could reconnect with old musical passions, fulfil secret wishes and dreams and enjoy music again.

The music therapy programme usually takes place in a one-to-one setting. Parents, siblings and other relatives are always welcome to watch and play along or receive support and counselling. No previous musical knowledge is necessary.

Hearing test (audiometry)

We carry out regular hearing tests with you to monitor your hearing development. Both threshold and speech audiometry tests are used here. In sound audiometry, we test the hearing threshold for various frequencies in order to assess the sensitivity of your hearing. In speech audiometry, speech comprehension is tested - both in a quiet environment and with background noise. The results help us to individually optimise the settings of your speech processor and provide targeted support during the course of your hearing rehabilitation.
