Since June 2000 our Cochlear Implant Centre Berlin-Brandenburg at the Werner Otto Haus, where we carry out rehabilitation after surgery. We provide therapeutic and paediatric audiological care for children, adolescents and adults with unilateral or bilateral CIs for at least two years after their operation. But that's not all: We are your contact partners in all matters relating to the CI.
We want our visitors to enjoy their stay at our centre. Eleven modern audiology and therapy rooms are available. Multi-purpose rooms are provided for rhythmic-musical stimulation and group therapy for children and also offer adults space for meetings, workshops, parent groups and much more.
We do everything we can to make you and your children feel comfortable. Of course, child-friendly equipment contributes to this, but even more so does the way we communicate with your child and you during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
That's how we came about:
It is primarily thanks to the commitment of parents of hearing-impaired children and adult CI users over the years that the idea of such a rehabilitation centre for Berlin-Brandenburg has become a reality.
The CIC was then created as a result of exemplary collaboration between the Berlin-Brandenburg Cochlear Implant Society e.V., the public sector, the health insurance funds and the MEDIAN Clinics management company.
Great support was also provided by the Werner Otto Foundation, which has been committed to the early diagnosis and early treatment of disabled children for more than 50 years. Our home is named after the founder of the foundation, Werner Otto.

The sponsor of our CIC is the CIC Cochlear Implant Centre Berlin-Brandenburg gGmbH*. This organisation is dedicated to supporting people with hearing impairments, especially those who are fitted with a CI or wish to be fitted with one. CI-implanted children and their parents as well as adult CI users have joined together to form self-help groups under the umbrella of the association. Here, like-minded people can exchange ideas, learn together and have fun.

Mission statement
As CIC Cochlear Implant Centrum Berlin Brandenburg gGmbH, we have been there for children, adolescents and adults with CI and their families since 2000. Our predominantly outpatient concept is favoured by the families of children and adolescents as well as adults - regardless of their sometimes long journeys - because it allows regular, prompt and flexible adaptation to the individual rehabilitative needs and social, family, school and professional context conditions of rehabilitation.
Patients are at the centre of our work
People are at the centre of our work: we act in accordance with the principles of the ICF (International Classification of Functioning). We oppose all forms of racism and discrimination of any kind. We do not tolerate the devaluation of people based on their language, origin, gender, sexual orientation or religion. We stand for diversity, solidarity, equality, freedom and respect.
The aim of our work is to enable patients to participate in society.and professional life (again) and thus to improve their subjective perceived quality of life. The focus is not on the diagnoses, but rather on the patient's and their families' wishes and goals.
Together with our patients and their families and relatives, we develop rehabilitation goals hand in hand on the basis of our care contract and adapt these together during the course of rehabilitation.
Patients are assigned a personal contact person who is available to answer any questions throughout the rehabilitation process and even after treatment has been completed. The opinions of our patients and their relatives are very important to us. It gives us impetus for our further development.

Dear patient,
Dear relatives and visitors,
You will certainly understand that with such a large number of patients, house rules must be in place to ensure a regulated treatment process. Furnishings and equipment used in connection with the treatment must be treated with due care and attention. The perpetrator / legal guardian / carer will be held liable for any damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
Smoking jeopardises your health.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the CI Centre. Please do not smoke directly in front of the entrances to the CIC, the counselling centre or the daycare centre.

If you wish to cancel or postpone appointments for personal reasons, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. For all cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment, we unfortunately have to charge a cancellation fee of 20.00 euros.
